Do you have a consistent morning routine? Having a solid morning routine is something that many of us would like to achieve, but may not always be so great at sticking to. While it can be difficult, there are a few things that we believe everyone should incorporate into their morning routine to start their day on the right foot. After all, the way you start the day is typically how it goes—right? We sure think so! There’s a three-part morning routine that we’re all about. Meaning, these are the three steps that you should always make sure you go through in the morning before you leave for work to start your day right.
Exercising
We get it…exercising early in the morning can seem like kind of a drag. But many researchers have found that those that exercise in the morning tend to have more energy and the ability to think much clearer throughout the day. Exercise is a great way to maintain your health both physically and mentally—what better way to start the day? Plus, let’s be honest when you’re able to get your exercising in the morning you don’t have to worry about trying to fit it in the rest of the day (if that other time of day even ends up happening).
Cleansing
Cleansing your skin doesn’t just feel great in the morning, it’s a necessary step in your morning routine. Between cleansing your body with a shower (especially after you exercise) and cleansing your face with a gentle cleanser, your skin just needs a thorough cleansing in the morning. Making it a point to cleanse your skin in your morning routine helps to keep your skin clean, remove any dirt and oil that may have accumulated throughout your evening and really prep your skin before you head out for the day. Since our skin is exposed to so many different elements throughout a daily basis, cleansing in the morning allows us to start fresh so we’re not just having more build up on our skin’s surface.
Breakfast
It’s the most important meal of the day, you know! You probably grew up with your parents stressing the importance of eating breakfast before going to school but for some reason, as we get older we lose sight of that and begin skipping breakfast or opting for a not-so-healthy option. Eating a healthy and well-balanced breakfast helps to give you that boost of energy and great nutrients for your body as you start the day. Skipping breakfast can often lead to you feeling hungry and low in energy as you get to work and in that time before lunch. Instead of skipping, make it a habit to have something healthy before you leave the house. You’ll feel so much better and be able to think so much clearer. If you have a hard time making something before you leave the house, look for make-ahead options that allow you to have the ease of grab and go but can know that they’re still providing you with healthy nutrients.
